Even the youngest of readers and listeners can fly away to Neverland with this simplified adaptation of J. M. Barrie's beloved play. This 1923 version was created by Daniel O'Connor and illustrated by Alice Woodward by the Macmillan Publishing Co, New York.
This book offers an enchanting introduction to the boy who wouldn't grow up and his magical world. For those familiar with the Disney version of Peter Pan, this image is much closer to the sense of the character being a Pan(theistic) spirit of freedom and wild nature, communing with the birds and summoning the seasons on his pipes.
Readers of all ages will fall in love all over again with this vivid retelling of the Darling children's adventures among pirates, mermaids, Indians, and a tribe of Lost Boys.
The inside cover is inscribes as a gift to Ruth S McQuescon June 25,1925 From MaryElizabeth Radston. Otherwise there are no markings, bend or torn pages and no foxing or dogears.
It measures 6 1/2" x 4 3/4" x 1/2'
The cover is good with minimal rubbing on the edges but no dust jacket.
It does have a tear in the seam on the inside cover (as seen in pictures) that doesn't impact the strength of the binding or integrity of this classic.
