These beautiful dinner plates are made by the Edwin Knowles China Company in a criterion shape with wonderful midcentury modern lines.
The pattern is Coral Pine circa 1950's featuring a combination of coral flowers with brown and black pine needles.
In the early 1900's as producing the highest grade semi-vitreous ware in the country, Knowles combined light weight durable product and graceful shapes with the finest finishes and artistic pattern. Their reputation became widely known and demand grew, so to keep up they opened a second plant in West Virginia along the Ohio river. The company closed it's doors in 1962 amid high taxes and completion from low cost foreign imports.
There are no chips, cracks or crazing and each plate measures 10 1/2" x 10 1/2"
