Vintage Carborundum Stone/Silicon Carbide Sharpening Stone/Knife Sharpener with Red Wooden Handle
This knife sharpener is a unique vintage piece.
It has a red wooden handle with minimal rubbing or nicks.
The sharpening tool is arrowhead shaped with a 'spine' on both sides and shows minimal wear.
It is marked Carborundum which is the type of stone that it is made of.
Carborundum is also referred to as silicon carbide which is a very durable abrasive.
It is also used in sandpapers, grinding wheels, high end brake pads and even bullet proof vests
It measures 7 1/4" long the sharpening head is 3" x 1 1/4"
